Write Checks

Write Checks / Pay Expenses

  1. Click New.
  2. Select Expense or Check.
    Write Checks / Pay Expenses
  3. Select or enter the Payee.
  4. From the Bank account dropdown, select the account you want to use to write the check.
    Write Checks / Pay Expenses
  5. Click the Category column and select an expense category.
  6. (Optional) Enter a Description.
  7. Enter the check Amount.
    Write Checks / Pay Expenses
  8. Complete the remaining check fields you need.
  9. You can print the check by:
    • Uncheck the Print later and write the check by hand.
    • Billing & Subscription to change your QuickBooks subscription.
    • Checking Print later to print the check later.
    • Clicking Print check to print the check now.
  10. Click Save and Close when you're finished.
    Write Checks / Pay Expenses

QuickBooks records the check payment.
